Patch Town launch month Recap

Patch Town has officially been out a whole month! Whoo-hoo! I am so pleased with how this book is being received. Thank you so much to everyone who has bought, read, reviewed, and discussed it. I appreciate your support so much! It’s kind of cool to bring this true story to life in a world where so many people can empathize with what Mary D went through “back in the day”. Many residents of the Schuylkill Coal Region had never heard of “the town that blew up the coal mine”. Even my grandparents didn’t remember, and they were there. Here are some of the highlights from the past month.

Fabulous Launch Party

I tried to go for a ’30s vibe for the launch party. And yes, I brought coal!

Book Clubs Approved

I might not have social media, but I still get sent pictures from book club at the Orwigsburg Library. Here's me with the fabulous librarian Claudia and our whole group!

I got to meet with two book clubs last week, the Orwigsburg Library and the Schuylkill County Historical Society. Thankfully both book clubs gave their stamp of approval to Patch Town. I found it very interesting that the book stirred up so many memories for locals familiar with the coal region and that out-of-towners found that they learned a lot about coal mining.

Fun day in Danville!

I topped off launch month May 2 with a trip up to Danville, PA for the Danville Spring Fling, where I shared a tent with 5 fellow writers. We had fabulous weather, a packed crowd, and the comraderie was great. From left to right you have thriller author Elizabeth Scozzari, fantasy author Michael Miele, literary fiction author Brian Ferguson-Avery, “weird-satire” author Sarah Karasek, crime fiction author Mark Dickerman, and me, historical fiction author J.A. Stein! Needless to say, we had quite the selection for readers to pick from.

Thank you for a fabulous month! Check out my events tab for the growing list of book events I have coming up.
