Books attract Authors

There has been an unexpected perk to being an author, in that I have gotten to meet so many other authors. Every signing, every event I do, people come up and introduce themselves as either published writers or aspiring writers. I love meeting fellow writers. Everyone comes from a different experience, and I have found this writing community to be very encouraging and supportive.

This past Saturday at Barnes and Noble was no different, as I met the talented, accomplished Lizzie Shacklett. Not only is this young lady already a published children’s author, but she is the founder of the non-profit Literacy is Lit, which distributes books to children across the country. Oh, and if that’s not enough, she is also the reigning Miss America Teen Pennsylvania. I wish Lizzie the best of luck. If you’re in the market for children’s books, be sure to check out her story, I Read Before Bed.

I am also happy to announce that I got invited back to Barnes and Noble Bethlehem/Easton! Mark your calendars for November 11. Thank you everyone that stopped to talk to me and bought my book. I hope you enjoy it. And thank you so much to Barnes and Noble for the opportunity!
